Bio
Chelsi Sparti is a Graduate Student Research Assistant in the Electricity Markets and Policy Department at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and a Master’s student in the Energy and Resources Group at UC Berkeley. She researches emission mitigation pathways and risk from power system vulnerabilities.
Prior to graduate studies, Chelsi spent four years advancing energy policy at all levels of government with The Samuel Lawrence Foundation, where she co-authored Congressman Mike Levin’s (CA-49) Congressional task force report on nuclear waste science and policy. She was awarded a 2019 Women's History Month Award by California Senate President Toni Atkins (CA-39). In 2014, she served with the U.S. Department of State as a Fulbright Scholar in the Bornean jungle of Sarawak, Malaysia. Chelsi is European and Indigenous, belonging to the Northern Wintu people. She earned a Bachelor’s in Biology from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California.
