Gabriel Yin is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Before joining Berkeley Lab, he held positions of Researcher at the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc., and National Renewable Energy Laboratory. His expertise includes mathematical programming, machine/deep learning, and stochastic optimization with applications in electricity market and policy-making for large-scale systems. He has published tens of research papers in top-rank journals of the power sector, e.g., IEEE Transactions on Power Systems and Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews. He also serves as a reviewer for a wider range of journals. He participated in the IEEE society of student chapters and conferences over six years.
Shengfei received the B. Eng. degree from Hunan University, Changsha, China, in 2016, the M.S. degree from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL, in 2017, and the Ph.D. degree from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, in 2021, all majoring in Electrical Engineering focusing on power economics.
