Abstract
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory compiled and synthesized empirical data on the U.S. land-based wind energy sector. The focus is on land-based wind turbines over 100 kW in size, though the “Installation Data” and “Industry Data” sections often contain combined data inclusive of all utility-scale wind installations. Data sources are diverse.
The Excel data file includes the resulting data synthesis and related figures, with 61 tabs that cover: (1) installation data and trends (2) industry data and trends; (3) technology data and trends; (4) performance data and trends; (5) cost data and trends; (6) power sales price and levelized cost data and trends; and (7) cost and value comparisons. The PDF file simply compiles the various figures and tables that are also included in the Excel file. A number of interactive data visualizations are also available, at windreport.lbl.gov.
