Naim Darghouth
Naïm Darghouth is an independent renewable energy research consultant and affiliate of the Electricity Markets and Planning Department at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research focuses on renewable energy policy and economics, with particular emphasis on distributed energy markets, retail electricity rate design, and the customer economics of renewables.
Naïm was previously a Research Scientist at Berkeley Lab, where he worked from 2009 to 2023. In addition to his US-based work, he has served as senior activity manager for USAID's Power Tunisia project and provided economic analysis on distributed solar to governments, utilities, and regulators across more than ten countries on four continents. He has published over 100 journal articles, reports, and conference papers.
Naïm holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from the Energy and Resources Group at UC Berkeley, an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech, and a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University.
