Vasundhara Gaur

Vasundhara (Vasu) Gaur is a Policy Researcher in the Energy Markets and Policy Department at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She is an applied microeconomist, with a strong background background and strong research interests in Environmental Economics, particularly policy-relevant analysis and non-market valuation. Most of her research has been focused on quantifying externalities from solar arrays and wind turbines in the New England area using both revealed preference (hedonic property price analyses) and stated preference methods, and quasi-experimental regression techniques.

Before joining the lab, Vasu was an Economic Fellow at the Institute for Policy Integrity at NYU Law School where she examined the role of distributional analyses in regulations and policymaking. Prior to that, her postdoctoral work at the University of British Columbia in Canada analyzed the impact of Genetically Modified (GM) crops on a variety of agricultural and environmental outcomes. She received her PhD in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the University of Rhode Island, and her Masters in the same field from The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) School of Advanced Sciences in India.
